Leadership

GPF’s first priority to create local leadership in the villages, so that the villagers are able to design their village development plan and implement it collectively. We help the villagers develop three types of institutions, which address development issues.

The Institutions are:
  • 1)Self Help Groups (SHG)
  • 2)Family Development Groups (FDG)
  • 3)Village Development Committee (VDC)

We train the leaders and members in leadership, communication skills, networking, book-keeping, accounts, etc. They have the passion, skills and knowledge to work for their village development collectively. ‘Solution Leadership’ is at play in all our working villages.

As on 31st January 2020, we have promoted 20 SHGs with 202 members; 64 FDGs with 641 members and seven Village Development Committees. Each VDC has seven elected leaders, who are either representatives of FDGs or SHGs.

Our community organizers maintain close relations with the villagers by visiting the villages often and provide them necessary support. The leaders consider ‘accessing government schemes and individuals’ entitlements’ a development priority and work hard to help individuals and families.

The following table indicates the entitlements/ schemes received by individuals/families.
